Safety First: The Use of Restraints

The purpose of this two (2) hour course is to provide healthcare workers with the skills and knowledge to care for patients requiring the use of restraints. Restraint use is very regulated by national and state regulations; therefore, this course will explore the regulations and how they affect healthcare workers and institutions. Because restraint regulations are different for psychiatric and long-term care facilities, this module will concentrate on restraint use in acute-care facilities.
