Course Overview
This two (2) hour course aims to provide a brief overview of HIV and AIDS, the current state of the epidemic, and how specific state reporting requirements may be implemented.
By the end of this course, you will have the skills to:
✔️ Differentiate between HIV and AIDS.
✔️ Outline how HIV is transmitted and symptoms of HIV.
✔️ Define how HIV is diagnosed.
✔️ Define highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART).
✔️ Outline the key side effects associated with HAART medications.
✔️ Discuss at least three considerations for evaluation and management of HIV in women and children.
